“Pat-A-Pan (Wille, Bring Your Little Drum)”

Photo by Chad Madden on Unsplash Hi, All! A family friend asked us to do our own arrangement of his favorite Christmas song, “Pat-A-Pan.” (Thank you, Mr. Sunny!) He sent us a fantastic microphone and we set to work! Here’s our arrangement of the song, with Dad on piano and electric guitar, Micah on the penny whistle, and Kyle (a drummer programmed in GarageBand) on drums. 😀 I hope you like it!

Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree

Howdy, Folks, I talked last week about the “Christmas Showcase” we got to have at our house. This week, I’m posting another song from it! Anna did a fantastic job learning the lyrics and melody for “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree.” She’s a natural! It was super cool getting to perform our song and see how the practice paid off. I’d love for you to take a listen! Merry Christmas!

Song Share – “If You Want Me To”

Hello, How has your week been going? I’d love to share a song with you that I’ve only recently discovered (thanks, Mom and Dad!). It’s called, “If You Want Me To” by Ginny Owens. The song is jazz- and folk-sounding, and the lyrics are full of deep thoughts and wonderful reminders. I hope it encourages you. Thanks,

Through The Door – An Original Song

Hello! How are you? We’re in Hungry Horse, Montana. This morning, we went horseback riding on a trail ride. (I found the ride rather ironic, because my horse, Waylon, kept eating along the way. Get it — Hungry Horse?) 😀 It was a wonderful experience. I would love to share a song I wrote with you, called “Through The Door.” It was written in the camper using Micah’s guitar, and […]

Cascades

Hey, Folks! How’s your week going? Here’s a little piece I composed called “Cascades.” I wrote it about twelve months ago, inspired by some music a friend sent me, and would love for you to listen to it!

Mirrors – An Amped-Up Version

Hello, All! How has your week gone so far? Are you enjoying spring? Last week for my birthday, I was given a MIDI controller, which is like a tiny, bluetooth keyboard. (Thanks a bunch, Mom and Dad!) Here’s how MIDI works: musicians of all sorts of instruments record each note at a studio, and then applications like GarageBand let you “play” those instruments through your keyboard or controller. This way, the […]

More To A Girl Than A Mirror – A Song

Hello! How are you? I wrote a song this week that I would absolutely love to share with you. It’s called “More To A Girl Than A Mirror” or “Mirrors,” depending on if you want a mouthful or not. This song was one of my first attempts at a broadway-type song, with wacky chords and a wide melody range. I had a ton of fun writing it, and even made a […]
