A Conference Called INBOUND

Howdy, What’ve you been up to? Yesterday, I had the amazing chance to attend my first conference about inbound marketing! It’s called INBOUND17 and roughly 20,000 people have been attending (the conference isn’t over until tomorrow). The atmosphere is almost like a party, with food trucks and adult swings and blaring lights and music. I enjoyed the unique experience and wanted to share some photos! What was one thing that […]

Ten Words A Week – Week 1

Hi, there! What’ve you been up to today? The Cummins kids are in possession of a new learning assignment: to write a list of ten words and their meanings each week. The words can come from things we’ve heard, books we’re reading, and occasionally a dictionary or thesaurus. (I say occasionally because the main point is learning words in the real world.) After the list is amassed, we are expected […]

A Ferry, A Camper, A Family

Hi, there! We rode a ferry over Lake Champlain last Saturday. We started in New York and finished in Grand Isle, Vermont. (I didn’t know until the ferry ride that Vermont owns an island!) From there, we drove into the rest of Vermont by bridge. The ride only lasted fifteen minutes, but it was such fun. The reason I wanted to share is that we took our camper, too! (Which […]

After A Hitch In The Giddy-Up, We’re On The Road Again

We were driving along in a sleepy little town on Sunday when our truck put up the words “trailer brakes disconnected.” As Dad started pulling off the road, the lady behind us rolled down her window and told us something was smoking. Sure enough, our camper’s wheel bearings burned right off. God caused a lot of kind people to help us, and we ended up getting towed and boon docking […]

Niagara Falls and a Poem

Hi, Folks! How are you? We’re in the truck, driving to Wilmington, New York. I’d love to share a quick free-verse I wrote about a sunset I saw while we were driving through Pennsylvania (before Pennsylvania becomes too far away). There were dark rain clouds contrasting with a glowing sunset. I took a little poetic license to increase the drama. Pennsylvania Sky The world lay sleeping beneath a leaden blanket […]

Fallingwater

Hi, Folks, How are you? We embarked yesterday on another Cummins Crew camping adventure! This one’s North-bound, with much cooler temps. We drove eleven and a half hours yesterday, which makes today’s six hour ride seem smooth and breezy. We’re heading to Buffalo, New York, today to see Niagra Falls (I’m writing this in the truck on my handy new WordPress app!) Our family just finished a fascinating tour of […]

A Gratitude Journal and a Challenge

Howdy, there, What are you up to this week? I have something I’d love for you to check out. It’s called “The Five-Minute Journal” and it’s a nifty gratitude journal. You fill out one page a day, for about five minutes in the morning and five minutes before bed. I love the thought-provoking questions it asks, from the morning section, “What Would Make Today Great?” to the before-bed part, “How […]

A Laugh to Wake the World – An Original Poem

Image Source A Laugh to Wake the World Ellie Cummins In forest deep, A laugh rang out And tickled all the trees The world asleep Professed to pout, And waited for the breeze. The laugh soared on As sunlight drowsed And gently bid it rise. In bashful dawn The world was roused, And opened sleepy eyes. The sky turned gold The wind took hold, And morning came quite fast. All […]
