Walk To Dawn – An Original Song
Hello, dear readers,
I can’t believe we’re in a brand new decade. Isn’t that crazy? Happy 2020! What are you looking forward to in this beautiful new year?
I’d love to share a song with you that I wrote, called “Walk To Dawn.” I got the inspiration to write it when I was practicing a piano piece from Pride & Prejudice called “Dawn.” It’s a beautiful piece that starts off the movie, and it’s understated and enthralling and full of motion. That, coupled with the fact that I got up early yesterday morning and noticed the world still seemed dark and sleepy, prompted me to jump on the topic and give it a try.
I hope it encourages you and puts a smile on your face!
Lyrics
I go for walks before the sun comes out,
When it’s just me, and the world is safe and sound.
I find it easier to hear my thoughts,
When the dark is deep, before the quiet is lost.
I watch the trees reach up to touch the sky.
And for a moment, my fears are out of sight .
And all the worries weighing down on my chest
Drop away, and finally let me rest.
So I walk, until the answers come.
I keep walking, walking, till I find the sun.
Don’t know why the dawn makes me feel loved,
But it does.
Mmm, it does.
I can feel the morning sing its song,
It sounds like peace, sounds like worries gone.
I search the darkness for a glimpse of GOD,
It’s like He’s waiting, in the thick of it all.
So I walk, until the answers come.
I keep walking, walking, till I find the sun.
Don’t know why the dawn makes me feel loved,
But it does.
Oh, it does.
So I walk, until the answers come.
I keep walking, walking, till I find the sun.
Don’t know why the dawn makes me feel loved,
But it does.
Mmm, it does.
